Some old negatives from WWII, found in a flea market, are married with present day shots from the same place. The effect is striking, and moving.

This isn’t new, but I find I return to watch it often enough that I ought to share it with those who maybe haven’t seen it at all.
In this video, Imogen Heap, an artist of sorta electronic pop music, performs one of her songs totally live and a cappella, laying down tracks and basically singing a really cool round with herself. Check it out.
Utah Phillips was a storyteller and historian; a purveyor of American heritage in the form of tale and song, with a penchant for labor union history and hobo folk songs.
Happily, Sarah “Train Wreck” Palin is continuing her good work. I’m not sure if it speaks to her “maverickyness”, or just “dumbassitude”. I’m going with the latter.
